Alexandra-Maria-Lara
Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in TV and film is well known for movies such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career as a child. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Her portrayal of Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, from Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historical war film) was both critically and commercially acclaimed. Additional Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra worked on several significant international and national productions through the years. Some of these include the British biographical film Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. She also remained member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
